China BASF Ultramid B3EG6 Manufacturer, Supplier, Factory

BASF, a global leader in the chemical industry, recently announced the launch of an innovative polyphthalamide (PPA) product, Ultramid® Advanced N2U40G5. This product is specifically developed to meet the stringent technical requirements of the new - generation USB Type - C connectors. The material is now locally produced in China and can be supplied to the global market.

In the rapid development of electric vehicles (EVs), battery system safety remains the "Sword of Damocles" hanging over the industry. Thermal runaway, electrical spark ignition, metal corrosion—every minor risk could escalate into a fatal hazard. While traditional flame-retardant materials partially address these issues, their high costs, processing challenges, and corrosive side effects have hindered industry progress. As a global leader in chemical and material science, BASF has revolutionized this safety battle with its Red Phosphorus Flame-Retardant Ultramid® PA6. This breakthrough not only redefines performance standards for flame-retardant materials but also emerges as the ideal choice for EV core components, combining high safety, cost efficiency, and seamless mass production.

As electronics evolve towards miniaturization, high-frequency, and enhanced reliability, specialty engineering plastics have become indispensable. Shanghai Weisa Plastic Technology partners with BASF and SABIC to deliver high-performance plastic solutions for 5G communications, precision electronics, automotive electronics, and more. Our materials excel in heat resistance, dielectric properties, and thin-wall molding, empowering clients to push design boundaries and secure a competitive edge.

In early March 2026, BASF, the global chemical giant, announced a move of profound significance for the Asia-Pacific market: its Shanghai Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) production facility has officially obtained the qualification to produce the full Elastollan® FR (Flame-Retardant) TPU portfolio. This marks BASF's successful achievement of localized supply for its entire range of flame-retardant TPU products—from Eco-friendly Flame Retardant (FHF) to High-Performance Flame Retardant (FR)—in China.

PFAS, known as “forever chemicals,” are a large group of fluorinated substances with extremely stable carbon-fluorine bonds that resist degradation in the environment and pose health risks. In engineering plastics, fluoropolymers such as PTFE, PFA, and PVDF are used either as base materials or processing aids to provide heat resistance, low friction, and non-stick properties. Due to tightening regulations by the EU, U.S., and China, customers now demand PFAS test reports to verify compliance. This requirement helps avoid customs detention, meet brand owners’ sustainability mandates, and prevent costly lawsuits. Without a valid report, products risk being excluded from supply chains. The industry is rapidly moving toward PFAS-free alternatives. A certified test report has become a mandatory pass for global trade in engineering plastics.

SABIC LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ DF006ER is a 30% glass-fiber reinforced polycarbonate (PC) compound that delivers outstanding rigidity, high tensile strength (up to 133 MPa), and superior heat deflection temperature (138°C at 1.8 MPa). Its excellent flowability and easy mold-release characteristics significantly improve injection molding efficiency and reduce cycle times. Moreover, the material is PFAS-free, helping customers meet stringent environmental regulations. This versatile grade finds broad applications in electrical and electronic components such as connectors and relays, automotive structural parts including instrument panels and headlamp housings, as well as pump bodies and valve assemblies. DF006ER is an ideal choice for replacing metal and achieving lightweighting without compromising mechanical performance.
