China SABIC LEXAN SLX2471T Manufacturer, Supplier, Factory

With the popularity of electric vehicles around the world, the technical requirements for key components are also increasing.

Facing rising material costs, manufacturers can significantly cut expenses by switching from traditional painted or two-shot molded automotive B/C pillar trims to high-gloss PC/ASA/PMMA—a paint-free, single-shot solution. This eliminates painting defects, reduces equipment needs, and saves 101 RMB per vehicle (20M RMB/year at scale), while improving heat resistance and design flexibility. Success depends on material-performance alignment, process optimization, and supplier collaboration. Strategic material substitution, not just cheaper alternatives, drives sustainable cost reduction.

Polyoxymethylene (POM) has become a star material for precision gears due to its metal-like rigidity, excellent fatigue resistance, low friction coefficient, and outstanding dimensional stability. Beyond solving core challenges like wear and noise reduction, it enables innovation in office equipment, automotive components, and micro-transmission systems through lightweighting, design integration, and oil-free operation. Shanghai Weisa Plastic Technology collaborates with industry leaders like BASF and SABIC to provide comprehensive POM solutions—from high-purity Ultraform® to self-lubricating LEXAN™—helping achieve more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective precision drive designs.

SABIC CY6414-701 is a halogen-free flame-retardant PC/ABS alloy from the CYCOLOY™ series. It offers high heat resistance (HDT 118°C at 1.8MPa, Vicat 135°C), high flowability (MFR 14g/10min at 260°C/5.0kg), and excellent impact strength (notched Izod 800J/m). The non halogen (chlorine and bromine free) flame retardant system achieves UL94 V 0 at 1.2mm and 5VB at 2.5mm, meeting strict environmental regulations. With low CTE and good dimensional stability, it is ideal for thin wall and complex parts. Typical applications include E/E enclosures, automotive interior/exterior components, and LED lighting housings. Proper pre drying (90 110°C, 2 4h) is required before processing to ensure optimal performance.

SpaceX plans to launch one million AI satellites, ushering in an era of space-based computing. High-performance plastics such as PEEK and LCP, with lightweight and extreme-environment resistance, become key aerospace materials, opening new opportunities for engineering plastics importers.

Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple launched new foldables within 72 hours, boosting demand for high-performance engineering plastics like LCP, PPS, transparent nylon and PI. This creates fresh opportunities for engineering plastics importers worldwide. Early sourcing and supply chain certification will be key. Demand is shifting from optional to essential. Act early.
