Ether-based thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) with excellent hydrolysis resistance Enhanced performance for a wide range of applications Sample-ready experimental grade product BASF presents a new ether-based thermoplastic polyurethane: Elastollan® 1400. The new TPU series offers excellent hydrolysis and microbial resistance, combined with stable processability and good compression set. The material has excellent burst pressure properties and can be processed by extrusion and injection molding. The aging stability of Elastollan® 1400 ensures long-lasting performance – a versatile choice for a wide range of applications.

Special engineering plastics, as the pinnacle of the field of polymer materials, are a class of high-end engineering plastics with characteristics such as high temperature resistance (long-term operating temperature > 150°C), high strength, and corrosion resistance. Their core value lies in achieving metal substitution through unique molecular structure design, playing an irreplaceable role in strategic industries such as aerospace, new energy, and electronic information. Currently, the global industry is undergoing a structural upgrade from general-purpose plastics to high-performance materials. Special engineering plastics, with their revolutionary advantage of "replacing steel with plastics," have become a key material for the transformation and upgrading of advanced manufacturing.

BASF Ultradur PBT, with its unique polymerization process, achieves a precise balance between hardness and toughness in the molecular structure design.

This article delves into the complete transformation process of engineering plastic pellets from raw material to precision parts. It systematically introduces the three fundamental processes of injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding, extending to specialized techniques like thermoforming and rotational molding.

BASF Ultramid® A 50H1 is a high performance PA66 grade based on a halogen free and phosphorus free flame retardant system. It achieves V 0 flammability rating while retaining the excellent mechanical strength and processability typical of polyamides. With a tensile modulus of 3800 MPa and good low temperature toughness – remaining robust even at –30°C – it resists brittle failure in harsh environments.

Ultramid® A221 is a high-performance unfilled PA66 grade from BASF, specially designed for injection molding. Featuring a special nucleating agent, it enables fast-cycle molding that significantly boosts production efficiency. The material offers high strength, good stiffness, excellent thermal stability with a melting point of approximately 260°C, outstanding dimensional stability, and strong chemical resistance. It is widely used in automotive manufacturing, electrical and electronics, and industrial machinery sectors.
