SABIC ULTEM™ 1000-1000MC is a medical-grade polyetherimide (PEI) specialty engineering plastic designed to meet the demanding requirements of medical devices and high-end manufacturing. It offers high strength, high rigidity, and good ductility, with a tensile strength of 105 MPa. The material operates continuously at 170°C and withstands hundreds of cycles of autoclave, EtO, and gamma sterilization. It features a heat deflection temperature of 210–220°C, continuous use from -160°C to 180°C, and very low mold shrinkage (0.2%–0.6%). The medical grade (HU2310) offers ISO 10993 or USP Class VI biocompatibility and withstands multiple sterilization methods.
