Recently, domestic polymer materials leader VISA officially released its innovative application solutions for polyphenylene oxide (PPO)-based materials in the automotive sector. This series of products, based on high-performance blends of PPE and PS, has developed over 20 differentiated grades tailored to the needs of new energy vehicles and traditional automotive components, demonstrating breakthrough progress in lightweighting, safety, and functional integration.

When Unitree H1 from YUSUR Technology twisted in Yangko dance on Spring Festival Gala’s grand stage, Tesla’s Optimus Gen2 deftly assembled circuit boards, and Figure 01 flawlessly crafted latte art, the global tech community witnessed an unprecedented revolution. Let’s explore the polymer material innovations behind seven humanoid robots:

Polyoxymethylene (POM) has become a star material for precision gears due to its metal-like rigidity, excellent fatigue resistance, low friction coefficient, and outstanding dimensional stability. Beyond solving core challenges like wear and noise reduction, it enables innovation in office equipment, automotive components, and micro-transmission systems through lightweighting, design integration, and oil-free operation. Shanghai Weisa Plastic Technology collaborates with industry leaders like BASF and SABIC to provide comprehensive POM solutions—from high-purity Ultraform® to self-lubricating LEXAN™—helping achieve more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective precision drive designs.

Recent volatility in crude oil prices has driven up the cost of plastic raw materials. Global chemical giants including BASF and SABIC have announced multiple rounds of price increases, keeping engineering plastic prices firm. In this environment, the plastics supply chain faces dual challenges of rising costs and supply uncertainty. Our company is an integrated enterprise combining import trading of engineering plastic raw materials, application development, product design, and molding manufacturing. As a long-term partner of internationally renowned brands such as BASF and SABIC, we leverage our global sourcing capabilities and technical expertise to provide customers with stable, reliable raw material supplies and professional solutions. We are committed to helping our global partners navigate market changes with efficiency and resilience.

BASF Ultramid® A 50H1 is a high performance PA66 grade based on a halogen free and phosphorus free flame retardant system. It achieves V 0 flammability rating while retaining the excellent mechanical strength and processability typical of polyamides. With a tensile modulus of 3800 MPa and good low temperature toughness – remaining robust even at –30°C – it resists brittle failure in harsh environments.

ULTRAMID® A 216 Y10 is a BASF injection-molding PA66 grade modified with molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) lubricant. It offers excellent self-lubrication, wear resistance, mechanical strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability. Designed for precision components such as bearings and gears, it is widely used in automotive, electrical/electronic, and industrial machinery applications.
