HUNTER 2026 Autumn Team Building | From the Yellow River to Dunhuang: Building Team Spirit Along the Silk Road

From October 16 to 20, 2026, the HUNTER team set off on its annual autumn team-building trip. Over five days and four nights, we traveled from Lanzhou through the Hexi Corridor to Dunhuang. Along the way, there were Gobi winds and Danxia sunsets, ancient passes and desert springs. More importantly, the long journey brought us closer together.

On October 16, HUNTER arrived in Lanzhou. Lunch began with a bowl of authentic Lanzhou beef noodles—clear broth, white radish, red chili oil and green scallions. One sip was enough to wake everyone up. In the afternoon, we strolled along Zhongshan Bridge and the Yellow River waterfront, feeling where the city meets the river at the “First Bridge over the Yellow River.” We climbed White Pagoda Mountain for a panoramic view of Lanzhou, then slipped into a local night market in the evening, where the smell of charcoal mingled with the sweet-and-sour aroma of fermented barley. It was an easy start: people chatted, new colleagues quickly felt at home, and the team began storing up the tacit understanding and energy for the long road ahead.

On October 17, the team crossed Wushaoling Pass and officially entered the Hexi Corridor. The wind at the pass was strong and the altitude was high, so everyone reminded each other to stay warm. In the afternoon, we reached Zhangye Colorful Danxia and climbed the viewing platform together before sunset, watching the colored hills unfold layer by layer in the evening light. Some looked for the best angle, some helped take photos—small details like these are the most genuine footnote to team cohesion. In the evening, the team had dinner together at a restaurant in Zhangye, then sat down for a game of Werewolf. Some reasoned hard, some “acted” their parts, and through speaking and listening, cooperation and judgment, we got to know each other better and built more trust.

October 18 was one of the longer driving days. HUNTER set off from Zhangye and visited Jiayuguan Pass in the morning, feeling the weight of the “First Pass Under Heaven.” In the afternoon, we checked in at the “Son of the Earth” sculpture group in Guazhou, experiencing the dialogue between humanity and nature along the Gobi art corridor. At night, we arrived in Dunhuang city, checked in and rested. The long drive did not wear down morale; instead, rotating care and mutual reminders brought the team even closer.

On October 19, the team walked into the Mogao Caves, feeling the shock of cultural heritage before millennia-old murals and statues. In the afternoon, we headed to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake, riding camels, sliding down sand dunes and exploring the sand hills together. The sand ridges were edged in gold by the setting sun, and whenever someone fell behind, someone else waited. On the return bus, we happened to catch a desert sunset—the golden afterglow outside the window became the day’s most unexpected shared memory. In the evening, after dinner at the restaurant, the team sat down for Werewolf again. Laughter washed away the day’s fatigue, communication became smoother, and trust grew stronger.

On the morning of October 20, HUNTER visited the Dunhuang Museum, Dunhuang Printing Bureau and Dunhuang Bookstore, wrapping up the journey through history and city culture, and picking out favorite souvenirs.

Over five days, from the banks of the Yellow River to the deserts of Dunhuang, what HUNTER covered was not just geographical distance, but a practice of teamwork, mutual care and shared growth. Werewolf may be a small game, but it let tacit understanding grow in laughter and cohesion settle through traveling together.

Next, we will keep walking side by side—and the road ahead will be no different.
