Production base

Basf is one of the world's largest chemical companies with a presence in 93 countries. We have 234 production sites around the world. In 1865, BASF laid the foundation for the concept of integration in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and it remains one of our key strengths to this day: the integrated system intelligently connects and manages individual production units, creating an efficient value chain for high value-added products, from basic chemicals to coatings and crop protection products. Through an integrated production system, we are able to produce reliably while conserving resources and reducing CO2 emissions. For example, the by-products of one set of production plants can become raw materials for other plants. This helps us save raw materials and energy, reduce emissions and logistics costs, and fully leverage synergies.

In addition to Ludwigshafen, Germany, BASF also has five integrated sites in Antwerp, Belgium; Freeport, Texas, USA; Geismar, Louisiana, USA; Kuantan, Malaysia; and Nanjing, China. A new integrated base in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, is under construction. After the first set of engineering plastic modification equipment was put into operation in 2022, the second set of thermoplastic polyurethane production equipment was smoothly put into operation in 2023 as planned, and was officially announced to be put into operation in January 2024.

- Surface treatment technology: surface chemical solutions, automotive coatings, battery materials, catalysts.

Nutrition and Care: Ingredients and solutions for consumer applications, such as nutrition and personal care.

- Agricultural Solutions: Integrated solutions for the agricultural sector, including seeds, crop protection, digital solutions.
